Our XP Morning@Lohika consisted of 2 parts:

  • XP Explained
    • brief presentation about where the XP methodology came from, how it was developed and in what form it is used in modern companies. The story will make a mini-review of all XP practices
  • Continuous Delivery
    • The release of the product for many reasons is a very painful procedure. After a code freeze, development stops for some time and system administrators/developers start to shaman over the code in order to prepare release procedure. This situation makes the team and the customer to carefully plan releases and perform them infrequently. But in today’s world, the rate of release of the new product features becomes critical. Moreover, there are more and more requirements to the quality of the product. In this presentation, Mikalai will tell you how to build a reliable and repeatable process for product release, replacing most of the manual work with the help of automation. It’s not just about the releases, but also about the various demonstrations and manual testing. The participants will be presented with the principles and rules that underlie the Continuous Delivery practice. The whole process of implementation of useful engineering practices that are necessary for the successful implementation of the approach will be reviewed, as well as tools and libraries that help to implement it.

This XP Morning was really useful to everyone who is interested in Agile engineering practices in general and would like to get acquainted with Continuous Delivery practice in more details so the attendees were active and involved.
